From Our Family to Yours
Dogs bring so much joy to a home, but keeping up with everything that comes with them isn’t always easy. We understand because we’ve been dog owners for more than 20 years.
As a busy family of five, we know what it’s like to balance work, family responsibilities, and the everyday demands of caring for the animals we love. There never seems to be enough time, and cleaning up the yard is one chore most dog owners would gladly take off their list.
Why We Started Spruce Scoop
Spruce Scoop began after our own frustrating experience trying to hire a dog waste removal company.
We paid for a full month of service, but the company repeatedly failed to show up. Our calls and messages went unanswered, and we were left wondering whether anyone was coming. After receiving only one or two cleanups during the entire month, we realized the problem wasn’t just the missed service. It was the lack of communication, accountability, and respect for the customer.
We knew dog owners deserved better.
That experience inspired us to create the kind of company we had been looking for. One that provides a valuable service while treating customers the way we would want to be treated. That means doing what we say we’re going to do, arriving when we say we’ll arrive, communicating clearly, and never leaving customers wondering what’s happening with their service.

Reliability
We scoop year-round, winter included. Visits are scheduled by day, and our routes are planned each day around weather and location. If weather, a holiday or an unsafe condition postpones a visit, we don't simply skip it: the next visit includes a full cleanup of everything that built up in between.
Professionalism
Our Scoop Technicians are background-checked, uniformed and insured, and Spruce Scoop is registered in Connecticut. They walk every yard on a double-pass route so nothing is missed, double-bag the waste in scented bags for your trash bin or a spot you choose, and sanitize their tools and footwear before moving on to the next property.
Thoughtful communication
You get a text 10 to 30 minutes before we arrive and another when we're done, along with a photo of your closed gate, so you're never left wondering whether we came. Billing is automatic on the 1st of each month, with nothing to remember and no checks to leave out. Questions about your service? Genuine care
Friendly dogs are welcome to stay outside while we work, and we ask that aggressive or overly excited dogs stay indoors so everyone is safe. Before we leave, we latch your gate and photograph it, so you know your pets are safe. Our deodorizing and sanitizing treatments are safe for pets, plants and grass. And if a cleanup ever doesn't meet your expectations, let us know and we'll make it right.
