Information we collect

What you give us

• Contact details: your name, email address, mobile and other phone numbers, mailing and service address, town and ZIP code.
• Quote details: how many dogs you have, how often you want service and when the yard was last cleaned.
• Property details: gate location, garbage can location, the areas of your yard to clean, entry instructions and anything else you tell us to help our technicians.
• Pet details: your dogs' names, birthdays if you share them, and notes such as a dog that should stay inside while we work.
• Billing details: card and billing information used to pay for service. You enter card numbers in our payment processor's secure form, not on our website.
• Gift certificate details: your name, phone number and email, the amount, and your recipient's name, email and personal note.
• Messages and records: what you send us by form, email, text or phone, how you heard about us, your text message choices, and your service and billing history.

What we collect automatically

When you visit our website we may collect your IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, the pages you view and the website that referred you. At each visit our technicians also take photos, such as a photo of your closed gate and, when it applies, a photo and weight breakdown for an initial cleanup over 20 pounds.

What comes from other sources

We display public reviews from Google, shown with the reviewer's first name and last initial. Our payment processor and scheduling software also tell us whether a payment went through.

Giving us information is your choice, but we need the basics to price your yard, schedule visits and bill your account.

Where we collect it

Here is what each part of our website and service asks for, and where it goes.

Seeing a price on our instant quote does not sign you up. You only sign up if you choose to on the last step.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Give you a price, set up your account and schedule your visits.
• Send visit texts, service updates, billing notices and confirmations.
• Process payments and gift certificates.
• Help our technicians find your gate, garbage can and the areas of your yard to clean.
• Answer your questions and follow up on quotes and messages.
• Check the quality of our work, including with visit photos.
• Send promotional emails or texts, only where you have agreed to receive them.
• Run surveys, ask for reviews and improve our website and services.
• Advertise our services, including through platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook Ads.
• Keep our business safe, follow the law and enforce our Terms of Service.

Visit photos may also be used for training, quality or marketing purposes, but never with your name, address or other identifying details.

Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the people and companies that help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

• Scheduling, billing and quoting software. Sweep&Go runs our instant quote, online sign up, scheduling, billing and client portal, and handles the details you enter there.
• Payment processors. They handle your card details so that card numbers never pass through our website.
• Our website platform. It hosts our site, saves what you send through our forms and emails it to us. Our forms include automated checks to filter out spam.
• Google. Our service area map is embedded from Google Maps, and when it loads your browser connects to Google under Google's own privacy policy. We also use Google for reviews and, at times, advertising.
• Communication and marketing tools. These help us send email, make calls and send text messages, and run advertising on platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook Ads.
• Our team. Our technicians and office staff see what they need to do the job, such as your address, gate and garbage can locations, areas to clean and entry notes.
• Professional advisors and authorities. We may disclose information when the law requires it, or in good faith to protect the rights, property or safety of Spruce Scoop, our clients or the public.
• A future owner. If Spruce Scoop is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.

These providers must keep your information confidential and use it only to help us serve you.

Text messages

Once you are a client, we text you before and after each visit so you know when we are coming and when the yard is done. These are service messages, and we send them to the mobile number you gave us.

We send marketing or promotional texts only if you agree by checking the optional consent box on our quote or contact form. Agreeing is never required to get a quote, buy a service or sign up. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt in data and consent, and that information will not be shared with any third parties.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar tools, which are small data files stored on your device. They help the site work, remember your choices and show us how visitors use it. Our website platform adds its own analytics script and a Cloudflare analytics script to each page, and they record visit statistics such as which pages are viewed.

We may also advertise through platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook Ads. Those platforms may use their own cookies or tracking tools to show our ads and measure whether they work.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended. You can also manage ad preferences through your Google and Facebook accounts.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• Show you the personal information we have about you.
• Correct or update it.
• Delete it, subject to legal exceptions such as billing and tax records we must keep.
• Stop sending you marketing emails or texts. Click unsubscribe in any email or reply STOP to any text.

To make a request, email info@sprucescoop.com or call (203) 850-7273. We may need to confirm it is really you before we act, and we will respond as soon as we can. You can also update your account details any time in the client portal.

Security, retention, children, other sites and changes

Security. We use industry standard measures to protect your information. Card numbers go only to our payment processor's secure form. No method of sending data over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep it. We keep your information for as long as you are a client and afterward as needed for billing, tax, legal and business records, then we delete it or make it anonymous.

Children. Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites. Our website links to other sites, such as our client portal, Google Maps and our Facebook, Instagram and X pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content.

Changes to this policy. We may update this policy at any time. For significant changes we will notify you by email, a notice on our website or an update to this page. Using our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
