Spruce Scoop Gift Certificates

Buying a certificate

To set one up we need your name, phone number and email, the amount of the certificate, and the recipient's name and email. You choose whether the certificate is emailed straight to the recipient or to you, so you can hand it over yourself, and you can add a special note to the recipient.

Amounts of $100.00 or more get a 10% bonus, and you'll know the bonus and the certificate's total before you pay. Payment is never taken on this website.

Using a certificate

A certificate lets the recipient schedule a service at their convenience, for a cleaner yard and more free time to enjoy with their pets and loved ones.

It can be used toward any of our residential services, including one-time cleanups, recurring service, deodorizing and sanitizing, as long as the recipient's home is within our service area. Purchased certificates do not expire. They have no cash value and can't be replaced if lost. If a certificate doesn't cover the full cost of a service, the balance is billed to the recipient's card on file.

Choosing an amount

What a visit costs depends on the number of dogs, the size of the yard and how often we come. To see a price for the recipient's home, start an instant quote with their ZIP code, their number of dogs and a schedule. Standard pricing covers the entire yard up to 1/8 acre, about 5,500 square feet, and each additional 1/8 acre is $6 per visit. Haul-away, if they'd like the waste taken away, is $10 per visit.

Services the recipient can ask about

Which of these a certificate can be used for is one of the details above that Spruce Scoop is confirming. Here is what we offer:

• Recurring yard cleanups: weekly, twice-weekly, biweekly or monthly visits.
• One-time cleanups, for example after a long winter or before a party or a home showing.
• Deodorizing from April to October, with natural, non-toxic enzymes that neutralize waste and urine odors.
• Sanitizing, a Wysiwash treatment applied across the yard through an outdoor water source.

Make sure we serve the recipient's town

Our routes cover New Haven and Fairfield Counties, Connecticut. Before you buy, check the recipient's town on our Service Areas page, which lists every town and ZIP code we serve. If you aren't sure, call us with their town and we'll tell you.

What the recipient's visit includes

We text you 10 to 30 minutes before we arrive. Our technician walks the whole yard on a double-pass route, double-bags every pile in our scented bags and leaves it in your trash bin or a spot you choose. Before leaving, they latch your gate and upload a photo of it, and you get a second text when the yard is done.

Our Scoop Technicians are background-checked, uniformed and insured, and they sanitize their tools and footwear between every yard. If the recipient would rather we take the waste with us, haul-away is $10 per visit, and either of our pet-safe treatments can be added to a visit: sanitizing any time, deodorizing from April to October.

What the recipient should know before we come

• They don't need to be home. The gate should be unlocked and the yard safe to get into, and we're glad to follow any entry instructions.
• Friendly dogs can stay outside. Aggressive or overly excited dogs should be kept indoors while we work.
• Standard pricing covers the entire yard up to 1/8 acre, about 5,500 square feet; each additional 1/8 acre is $6 per visit.
• We scoop year-round. In snow, we remove all visible, accessible waste and pick up anything buried once conditions allow. If weather or a holiday postpones a visit, the next visit includes a full cleanup of everything that built up.

If the recipient keeps going

If the recipient would like regular visits after their gift, recurring service is month to month with no long-term contract. It's billed automatically on the 1st of each month, a valid credit or debit card must be on file before the first visit, and canceling takes notice at least 7 days before the next billing date. New clients get a free initial cleanup, limited to the first 20 lbs of waste.

When they sign up, they tell us where the gate and garbage can are and which areas to clean, from the front and back yard to a deck, patio, dog run or pool area.
