About Orange

We're proud to serve Orange.

Our promise

Local pros in Orange

Orange is home base for Spruce Scoop. Our business address is 284 Racebrook Road, Orange, CT 06477, and the family-owned company that runs our routes across New Haven and Fairfield Counties is based right here in town. We are a busy family of five and have been dog owners for more than 20 years. Spruce Scoop began after a company we paid for a full month of service kept failing to show up, so we built the kind of company we had been looking for: one that does what it says, arrives when it says and communicates clearly.

Why we're here

Why we serve Orange

Orange is a town of single-family homes. The town's 2025 planning chapter on housing reports that 90.8 percent of residents live in detached, single-family homes, based on 2021 Census estimates, and that almost all of Orange is zoned single-family residential and relies on septic, which needs enough land around each house to work. ZIP code 06477 is on our regular routes, and our current offer applies here too: new clients get a free initial cleanup, limited to the first 20 lbs of waste. If you live in Orange and want to talk before you sign up, call (203) 850-7273, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and you will reach the family-owned team based here.

Local roots

A little about Orange

When you want to get outside, the Parks and Recreation Department lists nature trail sites around town: Camp Cedarcrest on Mapledale Road, Fred Wolfe Park Trails on Hollow Road, High Plains Community Center, the Housatonic Overlook at Tucker's Ridge, the Paul Ode trails and the Race Brook Tract on Race Brook Road. The town also publishes walking maps for the Orange Triangle Trail with the Wepawaug Conservation Area and Kowal Nature Preserve, for a Town Center route that links the Paul Ode Trail and Fred Wolfe Park, for the Racebrook Tract, and for the Housatonic Overlook at Tucker's Ridge. Directions and maps are available at the Park and Recreation office.

Orange FAQ

Common questions about Orange service.

If your question isn't here, give us a call. We answer the phone.

Do your technicians take the dog waste with them?

No. We securely double- or triple-bag the waste in our scented bags and place it in your trash bin or a designated spot on your property.

Do you clean the entire yard?

Standard pricing covers the entire yard up to 1/8 acre, about 5,500 square feet. Bigger yards are welcome: each additional 1/8 acre is $6 per visit.

Is Spruce Scoop insured?

Yes. Spruce Scoop is fully insured and registered in Connecticut, for your peace of mind and protection in the unlikely event of any incident during our service.

Do you provide service in the winter?

Absolutely. We scoop year-round. In snow we remove all visible, accessible waste, and anything buried under snow or ice is picked up once conditions allow. If weather postpones a visit, we do a full cleanup of everything that built up on the next one.

Can technicians work with dogs in the yard?

We love our furry clients! Friendly dogs can stay outside. For everyone's safety, we ask that aggressive or overly excited dogs be kept indoors while we work.

Do I need to be home when you arrive?

No. Just make sure your gate is unlocked and we can get into the yard safely, and tell us about any entry instructions. We'll handle the rest.

How will I know you've been there?

We text you 10 to 30 minutes before we arrive and again when we're done, and we upload a photo of your closed gate before we leave.

How much does dog waste removal cost?

Pricing depends on the number of dogs, your yard size and how often we visit. Weekly service for a small yard with one or two dogs typically runs $23 to $28 per visit. Get your exact price in about a minute with our instant quote.

Awaiting confirmation: Spruce Scoop is confirming the $23 to $28 range above. Your instant quote shows your exact price.

How often can you come out?

We offer weekly, twice-weekly, biweekly and monthly visits, so you can pick the schedule that fits your dogs and your yard.

Is there a contract?

No. Service is month to month with no long-term contract. To cancel, just let us know at least 7 days before your next billing date.
