Why we're here

Why we serve Greenwich

Greenwich is home to a big community of dog lovers who cherish its parks and trails, and we would rather you spend your time out there than on cleanup. Our team cares about animal health and cleanliness, and we keep backyards neat, safe and enjoyable for pets and people. Locals know Greenwich Point Park, often called Tod's Point, for its panoramic views of Long Island Sound, and Babcock Preserve for more than 300 acres of forest, with miles of trails winding through woodland and open space. Greenwich also has charming downtown streets and waterfront areas that are perfect for exploring with your furry pal.

Local roots

A little about Greenwich

Much of the town's protected land is wooded and wet. On Cherry Valley Road, the 80-acre Converse Brook Preserve has a restored meadow, upland forest and a network of streams and wetlands with vernal pools. Its roughly 2.5 miles of trails, known as the David Ogilvy Memorial Trails, are open to the public. The main Orange Trail loop runs about 1.5 miles from the parking area through six distinct ecological communities, including beech-maple forest, red maple swamp and rocky headwater streams, and the half-mile Lilac Trail loops through the northern section. The preserve is managed by the Greenwich Land Trust, a nonprofit that works to conserve open space, connect the community with the natural world and inspire the next generation of conservationists. Toward the Stamford line, the Town of Greenwich owns the 110-acre Mianus River and Natural Park, one of three adjoining properties that together form Mianus River Park.

Greenwich FAQ

Common questions about Greenwich service.

If your question isn't here, give us a call. We answer the phone.

Do your technicians take the dog waste with them?

No. We securely double- or triple-bag the waste in our scented bags and place it in your trash bin or a designated spot on your property.

Do you clean the entire yard?

Standard pricing covers the entire yard up to 1/8 acre, about 5,500 square feet. Bigger yards are welcome: each additional 1/8 acre is $6 per visit.

Is Spruce Scoop insured?

Yes. Spruce Scoop is fully insured and registered in Connecticut, for your peace of mind and protection in the unlikely event of any incident during our service.

Do you provide service in the winter?

Absolutely. We scoop year-round. In snow we remove all visible, accessible waste, and anything buried under snow or ice is picked up once conditions allow. If weather postpones a visit, we do a full cleanup of everything that built up on the next one.

Can technicians work with dogs in the yard?

We love our furry clients! Friendly dogs can stay outside. For everyone's safety, we ask that aggressive or overly excited dogs be kept indoors while we work.

Do I need to be home when you arrive?

No. Just make sure your gate is unlocked and we can get into the yard safely, and tell us about any entry instructions. We'll handle the rest.

How will I know you've been there?

We text you 10 to 30 minutes before we arrive and again when we're done, and we upload a photo of your closed gate before we leave.

How much does dog waste removal cost?

Pricing depends on the number of dogs, your yard size and how often we visit. Weekly service for a small yard with one or two dogs typically runs $23 to $28 per visit. Get your exact price in about a minute with our instant quote.

Awaiting confirmation: Spruce Scoop is confirming the $23 to $28 range above. Your instant quote shows your exact price.

How often can you come out?

We offer weekly, twice-weekly, biweekly and monthly visits, so you can pick the schedule that fits your dogs and your yard.

Is there a contract?

No. Service is month to month with no long-term contract. To cancel, just let us know at least 7 days before your next billing date.
